Sylvius Gin 70 CL

Gin fans around the world probably have a poster of Franciscus Sylvius up on their bedroom walls, as he was (according to certain legends) the first clever chap to register a juniper berry distillate called Genievre which eventually became the gin we know today.

Botanical:  juniper, angelica root, coriander seeds, lavender, whole lemons, orange zest, alba ceylon cinnamon, star anise, licorice root and caraway seeds.

Tasting notes: The palate starts with a sharp caraway note, but considerable depth emerges: floral notes along with juniper come through in the mids. The finish has a lot of spice notes, as caraway comes through again, but this time with sweet licorice and fennel notes as well. Sylvius gin is a spice-forward contemporary style gin.
